We are pleased to present our latest development — the Urban Materials analytical platform of the same name.

Urban Materials is an information and analytics search platform designed to help analysts find and compare similar places in a city. The platform simplifies working with geodata for non-specialists and allows you to analyze both open data and your company’s data. Our platform offers a range of features to help you make informed decisions quickly and easily. With Urban Materials, you can access a wealth of information about your urban environment, allowing you to save time and resources while making informed choices.

The platform includes three algorithms. The first is a search engine based on your geometric request in the city, returning in response alternative locations that are as similar as possible to your request in the following parameters:

  • Children’s healthcare;
  • Adult healthcare;
  • Social infrastructure;
  • Education;
  • Additional education;
  • Food trade;
  • Non-food trade;
  • Catering;
  • Transport infrastructure;
  • Sports objects;
  • Financial services;
  • Recreation and leisure;
  • Religious sites;
  • Cultural objects.

The second is a comparative analysis of open data in the TOP 15 alternative zones, including the following data sets:

  • Cost of residential real estate;
  • OSM data sorted by tags;
  • Demographic structure of the population;
  • Rating of objects surrounding the location according to wikipedia on map;
  • Air quality index;
  • Intensity of sports activities;
  • Night luminosity of territories.

The third is functional diversity in the location of the search query, in relation to all alternative areas of the query results. Presented in the form of graphs showing the surplus/deficiency of functions in comparison with the average values in all alternative locations, taking into account the size of the search query territory. And tables indicating the TOP 5 functions for each category. The report is run in the following categories:

  • Non-food trade;
  • Food trade;
  • Information Technology;
  • Small business;
  • Financial services;
  • Catering;
  • Sports objects;
  • Healthcare;
  • Social facilities;
  • Education;
  • Additional education;
  • Transport infrastructure;
  • Government and legal services;
  • Recreation and leisure;
  • Religious sites;
  • Tourism;
  • Industry and production;
  • Construction and repair;
  • Housing and real estate;
  • Agriculture and livestock farming;
  • Services for residential areas.

The result of the platform’s operation based on a search query is presented in the form of an analytical dashboard.
